BANGUED, Abra – Personnel of the Abra Provincial Police Office initiated a fundraising activity last Saturday at the Camp Juan Villamor, Bangued to help Children In Conflict with the Law (CICL).
Dubbed as "Zumba for a Cause ni PD Cula at Aleng Pulis", the activity was participated by about 395 representatives from the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection - Abra, Local Government Unit, academe, Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina, Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo, Barangay Health Workers, Philippine National Red Cross, among others.
As part of their celebration of Women's Month, the activity also aims to promote women's empowerment and to recognize their important contribution to our society.
The proceeds of the cause will be used to fund the various outreach and empowerment activities of Abra PPO to help Children In Conflict with the Law (CICL), persons with disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens, and those individuals with VAWC related cases.
“As we dance to the tune of the Zumba music, let us enjoy the moment of utilizing our body movements to send the message to the people around us that by collaborative partnership, we see no reason to fall in our life-changing advocacies”, said Col. Maly Cula, acting provincial director.
