Police Ronda B.I.S.I.K.L.E.T.A in Isabela to cope with expensive fuels

ISABELA – Don’t be surprised if you see police riding on bikes instead of motorcycles while patrolling your place.

Personnel of San Manuel Police Station led by Maj. Sunny M. Longboy, Officer-in-Charge, patrolled Barangay District 1 using bikes instead of motorcycles in a show of fuel-saving options as the country continues to reel in the face of prohibitive prices of fuels.

Dubbed ‘Ronda B.I.S.I.K.L.E.T.A (Barangay, Iba't-Ibang ahensya, Simbahan, Industriya, Kalye, Likod-Bakod, Eskwelahan, Tahanan At kabataan)’, police will often use their bicycles when patrolling different areas in San Manuel town as they implement their holistic anti-crime approach.

Though the police resort to using bikes, their goal nevertheless remains the same: to effectively prevent, control and suppress the occurrences of crimes, to protect lives and properties, and to develop effective crime prevention and public safety.

It also promotes a healthy lifestyle pointing towards having a positive change and impact to communities, the police said.
