The Mandaluyong City local government launched on Tuesday, March 15, the Kasalang Bayan 2022 to help unmarried couples have the wedding of their dreams amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

In a set of photos posted on her official Facebook page, Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos together with the City Social Welfare & Development Department (CSWD) led the mass wedding of 36 couples at the AHAC Covered Court in Barangay Addition Hills.
Abalos said that the local government unit (LGU) ensured that public health and safety protocols were still observed during the event. She congratulated the newlyweds and said that she prays for them to have a happy and lasting married life.
On Monday, March 14, Abalos also led the mass renewal of vows of couples celebrating their 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries. She had also congratulated the celebrants and prayed for the continued success of their marriages.

The mayor said that the city will continue to conduct weddings and matrimonial services in other barangays especially now that Metro Manila has been put under Alert Level 1 or the "New Normal" due to the continuous decline of Covid-19 infections.
She also cited the continuous increase of vaccinees in the city, bringing the number of infected people and hospital utilization rate to a minimum level.
As of March 15, the City Health Office (CHO) said that the city has already deployed 1,252,037 Covid-19 vaccines to its citizens. Out of this number, 543,446 residents have received their first dose while 523,608 have been fully vaccinated.
The CHO also noted 211,170 booster shots have been administered to Mandaleños.
