Garcia to head Comelec debate committee

Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner George Garcia will head the Debate Committee of the poll body.

The poll official revealed this on Wednesday, March 16.

"I am calling for a meeting of the Debate committee today as the new commissioner in charge," he said.

Garcia said he will propose to the en banc to conduct a walk through of their preparations for the debates this week.

The Comelec will hold its first Presidential Debates is on March 19, followed by the Vice-Presidential Debates on March 20, There will also be a second Presidential Debates on April 3.

The Presidential and Vice Presidential Town Hall Debates will be held on April 23 and 24, respectively.

Nine presidential and seven vice presidential bets have already committed to participate in the debates.
