Reelectionist Senator Leila de Lima sees two reasons behind the "irresponsible" red-tagging of presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo.

"The red tagging against VP Leni's campaign shows two things: 1. VP Leni is soaring regardless of what the surveys say; and 2. The other candidates are panicking," De Lima said on Twitter.
Some personalities, including presidential candidate Senator Panfilo Lacson and Cavite 3rd District Rep. Jesus Crispin ‘Boying’ Remulla, claimed that members of the country’s communist groups are among the massive attendees of Robredo's campaign rallies.

De Lima further said that red-tagging is an irresponsible act that only put people's lives in danger.
"Red-tagging does nothing but put the lives of people in danger. It is irresponsible and vile," the senator said.

The detained lawmaker also called the red-tagging on Robredo's camp as a "desperate attempt" and "bad propaganda" to undermine the "Kakampink revolution."
"When we rightfully called for government aid and efficient response amid the pandemic, we were red-tagged; when we called for investigations on the killings and persecutions, we were red-tagged. Lahat na lang ng hindi kayang panindigan at pagtakpan, red-tagging ang sagot," De Lima lamented.
She also said that the act should be criminalized to sanction those who continue to incite violence against government critics and the opposition.
"As long as red-tagging remains to be a go-to strategy of the State against its perceived enemies, hindi titigil ang mga aroganteng enablers na ito (these arrogant enablers will not stop),"De Lima said.
