'Cool' Senate bet Diokno sings to woo voters; 'Chel ka lang'

From now on senatorial candidate Chel Diokno takes the stage for his sortie speech, expect his new campaign song to play: “Chel Ka Lang”.

Diokno, a human rights lawyer, has released his latest campaign jingle entitled “Chel Ka Lang”, to the tune of the popular song “Cool Ka Lang.”

The song seemed to sum up the spirit of his candidacy built on pushing for a stronger justice system and listening to the voice of the youth.

And it has also became a hit instantly among supporters and netizens.

They said they have experienced LSS or Last Song Syndrome after listening to Diokno's new campaign song based on the comments posted on his official Facebook page.

“LSS na this,” Ciara Liezette wrote.

“Super saya ng jingle! Maraming salamat po! Ipanalo na ito! (Thank you very much! Let us win this!),” another one commented.

For Kheena Thrisia Ligas, Diokno’s campaign jingle has a chance to win “song of the year.”

“Love the jingle! Very catchy!” Kat Solmayor said.

If he wins a Senate seat, Diokno aims to provide Filipinos with easy access to free legal assistance in every barrio, like the Free Legal Helpdesk that he put up on his Facebook page, allowing them to get immediate legal help.

He would also strengthen the country’s barangay justice system by beefing up the capability of the Lupong Tagapamayapa in dealing with legal issues among residents.

The human rights lawyer said improving the country’s barangay justice system will also help unclog the court dockets as cases can already be resolved at the barangay level.
