BTS to perform at 2022 Grammy Awards

K-pop superstars BTS will be performing in person at the 64th Grammy Awards, which will be held on April 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

BTS are among the first seven artists announced by the Recording Academy who will perform at the music awards show that will be hosted by Trevor Noah.

Besides BTS, the six others are Brothers Osborne, Brandi Carlile, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X with Jack Harlow, and Olivia Rodrigo.

This year, BTS are nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their hit song "Butter.”

The 64th Grammy Awards will take place ahead of the “BTS Permission to Dance on Stage-Las Vegas” concert that will be held on April 8, 9, 15 and 16 at Allegiant Stadium.

During its announcement about the Las Vegas concert last month, Big Hit Music, BTS’ agency, stated, “We place the artists’ and fans’ health as our top priority in order to keep the 64th Grammy Awards participation and “BTS Permission to Dance on Stage-Las Vegas” concert as safe as possible.”

For the 63rd Grammy Awards held on March 14, 2021, BTS filmed their performance of “Dynamite” on the rooftop helipad of the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul hotel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, that offered a view of the famous Han River.

The rooftop performance impressed Grammy host Noah, who said, “Did you see that? They were in Seoul, Korea the whole time. They recreated the whole set over there because they couldn’t be here but they wanted to be here. So then they rebuilt here over there. I mean, there should be an award just for that. It was amazing.”

Last year, they were nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Dynamite.” The award went to “Rain On Me” by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.

This is the third time that BTS will be performing at the Grammys. During the 62nd Grammy Awards held on Jan. 26, 2020, BTS joined Lil Nas X in the performance of the song “Old Town Road.”

At the 61st Grammy Awards held on Feb. 10, 2019, BTS became presenters for the Best R&B Album award.
