KIDAPAWAN CITY —As she tries to cover more ground in her campaign sorties, Vice President Leni Robredo on Tuesday, March 15, said her camp is not looking at whether a province is vote-rich or a bailiwick because she wants to increase engagement with the people and convert more voters.

Robredo claimed that in her experience, it is important to visit “as many places as possible” because she can convert many voters during these visits.

Citing her camp’s “internal surveys,” she noted the “significant surge in numbers” after she visits a place.

“Wala kaming pinipili. Kung napapansin nyo din, hindi kami ‘yung nagbibigay ng mas maraming oras sa mga balwarte, sa mga hindi balwarte, hindi, hindi ganun. Sa amin, walang maliit, walang malayo, walang balwa-balwarte (We don’t choose. If you will notice, we don’t give more time to our bailiwicks, to non-bailiwicks, it’s not like that. For us, there is no place small, far, and a bailiwick),” Robredo said.

“Ang treatment namin sa lahat ng lugar sa Pilipinas, pareho. Whether nanalo kami, natalo kami (Our treatment in all places in the Philippines is the same. Whether we won, lost) during the last elections, yung pagpapakilala, yung pagpapahayag ng platform tsaka paniniwala, pareho pa rin (the introduction, the stating of platforms and beliefs, it’s still the same),” she added.

The lone female presidential candidate lamented that their only enemy is time so they try to visit as many places they can in a day.

“I wish we would have more time kasi mas gusto ko din mas babad sana para mas quality ‘yung (because I would’ve liked to be more immersed for more quality) engagement. But we make do,” Robredo said.

The Vice President is on a tour of Kidapawan City in North Cotabato, Koronadal City and General Santos City in South Cotabato, Tacurong City, Cotabato City, Basilan, Zamboanga del Norte, and Zamboanga del Sur this week.

On Tuesday, Robredo and running mate Sen. Kiko Pangilinan were welcomed by Kidapawan Mayor Joseph Evangelista and city hall employees at the Kidapawan City Hall in North Cotabato.

Outside, their supporters, mostly the young, waited and cheered for them.

As with all of Robredo’s campaign rallies, they also held witty handmade placards for her to read.

North Cotabato Gov. Nancy Catamco and other top local officials also welcomed the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem in the provincial capitol.

The two candidates made a campaign stop in the cities of Kidapawan and Koronadal to join their supporters in campaign rallies.
