PCUP's Disaster Resilience Caravan benefits 300 families in Palawan

A total of 300 families residing in Barangay Tagburos, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan have benefited from the Disaster Resilience Caravan of the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) on Tuesday, March 15.

The Disaster Resilience Caravan, according to PCUP, was held as part of the “capacity development” of the urban poor in terms of safety and security.

During the said program, PCUP held household disaster preparedness training and distributed basic disaster supply kits containing a safety whistle, flashlight, list of emergency hotlines, ziplock, and non-perishable goods to at least 300 families in Brgy. Tagburos.

“Nakinabang sa naturang caravan ang mga lehitimong samahan ng PCUP na Frontier Malaya Association, sa pakikipagtulungan ng local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) office . Ibinahagi rin sa caravan ang kahalagahan ng pamilya bilang unang responde sa mga kalamidad (PCUP-accredited organizations such as the Frontier Malaya Association benefited from the caravan, which was held in collaboration with the local DRRM office of Palawan. The important role of family as the first responder to disasters was also discussed in the caravan),” said PCUP.
