Pangilinan believes he could still close gap, or surpass opponents in next VP race survey
Aspiring vice president Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan remains unfazed by the latest Pulse Asia survey as he expressed confidence that his numbers will improve in the succeeding pre-election polls.

Pangilinan believes that his vice-presidential bid is beginning to pick up momentum and will post better numbers by the time the next survey conducted this March is released.
"Umaakyat tayo. Nakikita naman natin sa ground na hindi mo talaga masasabi na iyan ay hinakot dahil napaka-energetic (We are going up. We are seeing it on the ground and you can really say that they volunteered to join and very energetic)," Pangilinan said.
"Ang susunod na survey ang hintayin natin dahil doon na magre-reflect yung mga resulta ng debate na pagharap sa publiko itong mga rally na ito (We will wait for the next survey because it will reflect the result from the debate and the rallies presenting ourselves to the public)," he added.
The Senator garnered 11 percent among the vice presidential candidates in the recent survey, behind Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and Senate President Vicente Sotto III.
He said this is actually something he expected.

However, despite the survey results, Pangilinan said he is confident that by March, he will either close the gap over his opponents or even surpass them, saying that a lot can happen in a month alone.
"Alam mo sabi nila (You know what they say), in politics, one week is a long time. And it's been one month so marami nang panahon ang dumaan. So iba na. Ako naniniwala magiging iba na ang resulta ng survey ngayon pag ngayon gawin yan kumpara sa one month ago (a lot of time time has passed. So, there has been changes. I believe that the survey, if conducted now, will show a different result)," he said.
"Palagay ko either malapit na o nalampasan na (I believe either I close the gap or surpass them). One of the two ang magiging resulta (will be the result). 'Yan ang paniwala natin (That's what I believe in)," he added.
The vice-presidential aspirant cited the improved social media platforms analytics and the large crowds of attendees in his and presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo's grand rallies around the country.
