Over 4,600 families in 3 Bulacan villages receive food packs

The provincial government of Bulacan distributed food packs to over 4,600 families in Barangays Catmon, Barihan, and Santisima Trinidad in the City of Malolos on Monday, March 14.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando, together with Rowena Joson-Tiongson, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) chief, led the distribution of the food packs. They were assisted by Board member Alex Castro and businessman Arvin Velez.

The recipients include 1,380 families in Barangay Catmon; 1,574 families in Barangay Barihan; and 1,698 in the village of Santisima Trinidad.

Fernando urged the Bulakenyos to continue the good discipline they had shown in the past few weeks that gave way to Alert Level 1 quarantine status in the province.

He said the fight against Covid-19 is not over yet as the virus is still around although it has already weakened.

"Kung magpapatuloy ang pag-iingat at disiplina ng bawat mamamayan, malamang na makamtan natin ang Alert Level zero sa susunod na buwan, na ang ibig sabihin ay nakabalik na tayo sa normal nating pamumuhay," (If every citizen continues to observe precaution and discipline, we could possibly reach the Alert Level zero next month, which means we're back in our normal ways of living)," Fernando said, adding that it is high time to do good for everyone.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Health Office logged on Monday nine new Covid-19 patients, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Bulacan to 109,188 with 107,460 recoveries and 103 active cases.

Eight Covid-19 patients are confined in hospitals, 11 in the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility, and 84 are under home isolation.
