The National Capital Region (NCR) is ready for the implementation of the Covid Alert Level 0 if this would be approved by the national government, an official of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said on Tuesday, March 15.
No decision yet from IATF but the mayors are ready in case they lowered the alert level of NCR to 0),” said MMDA Undersecretary Frisco San Juan Jr. at the Laging Handa briefing.

San Juan added that no NCR mayors have so far expressed opposition to the proposal to place Metro Manila under Covd Alert Level 0.
He said that in case health protocols restrictions are further eased, the MMDA will still recommend the mandatory wearing of face masks, especially in crowded places, to avoid another surge in infections.
We will rely on IATF’s decision, but we recommend to retain the mandatory wearing of face masks to avoid Covid-19 infections, especially now that airports are open again),” he explained.
The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded a total of 4,131 new Covid-19 cases as of March 14.
