Despite being in the back burner in poll surveys among the top five candidates, presidential candidate Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson said he would continue the fight all the way to the May 2022 national elections.
‘’Surveys are not elections,’’ Lacson, who is the offiicial presidential bet of the Partido Reporma party, stressed.
‘’Last time I heard, election is on May 9. I’m not bothered at all simply because the numbers I feel on the ground are different from what the surveys indicate,’’ he added.
Lacson emphasized that after the presidential interviews and forums, ‘’I thought I should gain instead of lose support.’’
‘’Having said all that, I will continue this fight all the way to Election Day,’’ he said.
The latest (January 19-24) survey of Pulse Asia showed former Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. leading the pack with 66 percent.
Marcos was followed by Vice President Leni Robredo with 16 percent
Sharing third and fourth places are Senator Emmanuel Pacquiao and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno with eight apiece.
They were followed by Lacson with four percent.
