The Commission on Elections (Comelec) expects to finish the printing of the official ballots for the May 2022 polls this month.

"We are expected to finish the printing of official ballots on March 28 but it will not stop there because there is still the verification (process)," Comelec Commissioner Marlon Casquejo said in a press briefing at the National Printing Office (NPO) in Quezon City where the walkthrough of the printing process for stakeholders was held.
"The verification process will take some time," he added.
Casquejo, the head of the Printing Committee, said the printing of ballots is on time.
"We are on time. We are very lucky that we have four printers provided by the NPO," he said.
Casquejo said printing is now 24 hours per day.
"We have people on night shift. Its now full blast... 100 percent," he said.
As of March 15, the Comelec said 73.7 percent (49,737,783) of the more than 67 million ballots have already been printed.
