Nine party-list groups would have the support of 2 percent of Filipino voters if the May 9, 2022 elections were held today, according to Pulse Asia Research's Pulso ng Bayan pre-electoral survey conducted from Feb. 18 to 23.

Pulse Asia asked 2,400 respondents nationwide to choose one party-list group that they will vote for as they were shown the list of 177 party-list groups participating in the May 2022 polls.

Among likely voters, 83 percent expressed support for a party-list group.

Of the 177 party-list groups participating in the May 2022 polls, nine obtained voter preferences of at least 2 percent of the total number of votes cast for the party-list elections.

In the survey results released on Monday, March 14, Pulse Asia said the groups that obtained at least 2 percent of the total number of votes were ACT-CIS (8.02 percent), Ako Bicol (5.97 percent), Senior Citizens Partylist (5.61 percent), Malasakit@Bayanihan (5.38 percent), 4Ps (5.25 percent), An Waray (2.92 percent), Uswag Ilonggo (2.60 percent), Gabriela (2.31 percent), and AGAP (2.11 percent).

"The said level of support enables the following groups to surpass the 2 percent voter preference they need to secure at least one seat at the House of Representatives in the first round of seat allocation as stated in the Feb. 17, 2017 resolution issued by the Supreme Court," Pulse Asia pointed out.

It also noted that five of the party-list groups garnered enough support to enable them to secure three seats in Congress, which is the maximum number of seats that can be won by a party-list group.

These are ACT-CIS, Ako Bicol, Senior Citizens Partylist, Malasakit@Bayanihan, and 4Ps.

Meanwhile, four party-list groups obtained two seats: An Waray; Uswag Ilonggo, Gabriela, and Agap.

"To complete the maximum number of party-list representatives, 40 other party-list groups obtain at least one seat in the lower house," Pulse Asia added.
