2 men nabbed for illegal possession of gun, grenade in QC

Police arrested two men who were seen carrying a gun and a grenade in Novaliches, Quezon City on Sunday night, March 13.

Lt. Col. Richard Ian Ang, Quezon City Novaliches Station (PS 4) commander, identified the suspects as Carlo Condes, 36; and Cyrus Reyes, 41, both residents of Barangay Gulod, Quezon City.

Personnel from the PS 4 immediately went to Villareal Avenue in Brgy. Gulod after receiving a phone call from a concerned citizen about two armed men who were wandering around the area.

Upon arrival at the area, the police spotted and approached two men who matched the caller’s description. They arrested the duo after seeing a gun tucked in Reyes’ waist.

Police seized a .357-caliber firearm loaded with four ammunition from Reyes and one M203 grenade from Condes.

Reyes will be charged for violation of Republic Act (RA) 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition in relation to Commission on Elections Resolution No. 10728 (gun ban), police said.

Condes will also be charged with illegal possession of an explosive.
