Easterlies bring warm weather across PH

Most parts of the country will experience generally warm weather due to the prevalence of easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, March 14.

Weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said the easterlies, or warm winds originating from the Pacific Ocean, may bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with chances of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the entire country.

Based on its extended weather outlook for key areas from March 15 to 18, PAGASA said that maximum air temperatures may reach 32-34 degrees Celsius (℃) in Metro Manila, 33-35℃ in Tuguegarao City, 24-25℃ in Baguio City, 29-30℃ in Tagaytay City, 31-32℃ in Puerto Princesa City, 31-32℃ in Metro Cebu, 31-34℃ in Metro Davao, and 33-34℃ in Zamboanga City.

However, Aurelio advised the public to remain vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA has yet to declare the end of northeast monsoon or "amihan" season and the start of the dry season in the country this year.
