Accountant wanted for qualified theft arrested in Paranaque City

An accountant facing a qualified theft case with a recommended bail of P5.3 million was arrested by members of the Paranaque City Police Sub-Station 2 on Sunday, (March 13).

Col. Maximo Sebastian, city police chief, said police operatives under Maj. Jolly Soriano nabbed the suspect identified as Ramon Gamboa, 43, at about 5:45 p.m. at the entrance of Solaire Resort and Casino in Barangay Tambo, Paranaque City.

Gamboa was nabbed on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Brigido Artemon Luna II of Paranaque City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 196 in December last year for 111counts of qualified theft with a bail of P5.3 million.

The city police chief said the suspect was detained at the Paranaque Police custodial facility while waiting for the issuance of commitment order and return of the warrant of arrest to the court of origin.

Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg commended the Paranaque City Police for the arrest of Gamboa.

Macaraeg also said that under his leadership, tracking and arresting wanted persons will continue.
