AMULUNG, Cagayan -- A car caught fire after it crashed into a street light along a major highway in Barangay Anquiray here, resulting in the death of the driver and his three passengers at around 11 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2022.

Cagayan Provincial Police Office reported Sunday, March 13, that the vehicle was being driven by Nicole Jarrod Molina, business owner and a resident of Zone 2, Brgy. Centro, Amulung, Cagayan, when he lost control at the wheel, sending the car into a street light before it crashed into an acacia three then burst into flames.
Molina had three passengers with him, namely Oliver Taganna Jr. , Benjie Pascual and Michael India , all employees of Bonitos Café, and residents of Brgy. Estefania, Amulung, Cagayan.
Molina and his passengers were killed in the accident.
"Nasunog ang apat sa loob ng sasakyan at hindi na nakalabas (All four were burned when the car caught fire because they couldn't go out)," said Amulung Police Chief Major Llewilyn De Guzman.
Police said that, before the incident, a commotion occured at Bonito's Cafe after management was advised to close shop because it was still open past curfew hours.
Bureau of Fire Protection Amulung, Cagayan responded to the fire incident, and was able to recover the charred bodies of the victims.
