Widow dies in Zambo del Sur fire

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- An old widow died in a fire which razed two houses in Barangay Blancia, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur on Friday, March 11.

The fatality was identified as Severina Cabasag Baco, 92 years old.

A report from the Molave police station said the fire started at 3pm in Purok Makiangayon and razed the houses of Nelson Aya-ay Fuentes and Gerlie Mag-usara Umpad.

Upon inspection after the fire, firemen found the burned cadaver of Baco, mother-in-law of Fuentes.

Police said the victim might have been trapped after failing to get out of the burning structure.

Estimated damage was placed at P200,000.
