Bautista wants to give 2nd chance to MSMEs that failed due to Covid-19
For senatorial candidate Herbert Bautista, the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that failed to get off the ground because of the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic deserve a second chance--and fresh funding.

“For example, March of 2020, these businesses failed to start because of the pandemic. Their workers who were also supposed to start in their jobs became unemployed,” said Bautista in a statement Saturday, March 12.
The former three-term Quezon City mayor wants to facilitate assistance for such businesses that want to restart.
“That’s the same with assistance here so that they could start again but with the provision that all those who lost their jobs would be rehired,” Bautista said, adding, “These would benefit us all."
It was March 2020 when the Philippine government first imposed a stringent lockdown in an effort to control the spread of the new coronavirus. Practically all sectors were affected, with the MSMEs forced to either shut down or operate on a very limited capacity bases on prevailing Covid-19 protocols.
"Let’s give incentives to our businesses, the small ones and which are just starting and those who had closed down. They would need it,” stressed Bautista, who helped generate thousands of jobs during his lengthy tenure as mayor.
