Aspiring vice president Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan has condemned the "political harassment" towards an activist arrested in Cavite as he vowed legal support to those supporting him and and presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo who are similarly affected.

I am condemning the rotten and old tactic of repression to our supporters)," Pangilinan said Friday, March 11.
He made the call after the arrest of Jonathan Mercado, a cultural worker and the spokesperson of the Teatro Kabataan Mula sa Nayon.
The arrest of Jonathan Mercado yesterday is a political harassment)," Pangilinan said.
Mercado was apprehended by local police in Silang, Cavite on Thursday, March 10.
The senator said that at present, it remains undetermined where the Calabarzon police took him, adding that police cannot tell his family where he was taken.
We are calling on the PNP to not allow politicians to use them in suppressing a clean and peaceful campaign for us and VP Leni and all our senatorial candidates)," Pangilinan said.
It is saddening to learn the reports of harassment and red-tagging among our supporters in Cavite and other towns, cities, and regions where our team is gaining support to win and promote an honest government)," Pangilinan added.
The vice-presidential aspirant also pledged to provide legal support to victims of harassment.
Because that is the essence of our Katropa, no one must be left behind--most especially the smallest, weakest, and poorest)," he said.
