Shear line, easterlies may bring some rains over parts of PH -- PAGASA

The shear line and easterlies, as well as a low pressure area outside the country's area of responsibility, will bring scattered light rains to occasional heavy rains over several parts of the country in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Friday afternoon, March 11.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may affect Aurora, the northern portion of Quezon, and Kalayaan Islands due to the shear line and LPA.

Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands may also experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought about by the warm easterly winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.

PAGASA advised the public to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides due to the occurrence of scattered light to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or "amihan" may bring light rains over Cagayan and isolated light rains over Ilocos Region and Cordillera Administrative Region.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

From Saturday until Tuesday, March 12 to 15, PAGASA said the easterlies will be the dominant weather system due to the weakening of the amihan.

The whole country will experience hot and humid weather conditions apart from some isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening, it said in its weekly weather outlook.

By Wednesday, March 16, a fresh surge of the amihan will bring cloudy skies and light rains over Batanes and Babuyan islands.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

PAGASA said the amihan may weaken again by Thursday until Friday, March 17 to 18.

The whole country will experience generally fair weather apart from some isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening due to the easterlies.
