Sara clarifies Senate bet Robin's status with UniTeam

Vice presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has clarified the status of senatorial aspirant Robin Padilla with the UniTeam.

Duterte answered the Padilla question head-on during an ambush interview early evening Friday following their grand rally at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna.

"He is a guest candidate of the UniTeam," the lady mayor said of the movie actor-turned-senatorial candidate when asked if he was officially part of UniTeam's 12-man Senate slate.

Traditionally, "guest candidates" of a poltical party or coalition are included nominally in its senatorial line-up for an upcoming election.

Last month, Duterte, chairperson of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) said that "technically not yet" part“ part of the UniTeam ticket. However, Padilla has more often than not tagged along with the presidential daughter's sorties, with the latter always mentioning his name on stage when it's time to play up the senatorial wannabes to the crowd.

Headlining UniTeam are Duterte and Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Bongbong Marcos.
