Legarda to skip youth-oriented Senate polls forum

House Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda, who is now seeking a Senate comeback, will not take part in “The Rundown 2022: A Youth Oriented Senate Elections Forum.”

This was announced on Friday, March 11, by the organizer of the forum which is backed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

The The Rundown 2022 team said that it was told by the camp of Legarda, through a text message, that the reason for backing out of the forum was “scheduling conflict.”

“In a message sent last March 10, 2022, her team cited that the senatorial candidate had a scheduling conflict that prevented her from joining the forum,” the organizer said in a statement.

Despite the absence of Legarda, the organizer of the forum said it remains committed to its goal of sparking critical discourse among the voters.

“We look forward to your continued support towards shaping an informed vote,” it added.

The Rundown 2022 will be held on March 12, 2022 from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and will be aired on on the official Facebook pages of The Rundown 2022, the Comelec, and selected partners.
