Iloilo City downgraded to Alert Level 1

ILOILO CITY—After almost two years since the pandemic, Iloilo City has been downgraded to Alert Level 1 beginning Friday, March 11.

“We will have 100-percent capacity in all offices, business establishments, and churches. PUJs and restaurants may take down the plastic or acrylic barriers. Malls may allow children to enter without any requirement. S-Pass will no longer be required,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas.

“Our compliance officers will make sure face masks are used by our constituents. Let's all make sure our economy is revived while health protocols are observed,” added Treñas.

This was after the national government’s Task Force on Covid-19 approved the appeal of Treñas for a lower quarantine level.

For almost a month, there have been low Covid-19 cases while the majority of the targeted population has already been vaccinated against Covid-19.

The healthcare utilization rate (HCUR) is also below 50 percent.

Treñas added that the HCUR will be lower with the Iloilo City Modular Hospital, which will have 77 beds for Covid-19 patients.
