The Council of the Laity of the Apostolic Vicariate of Taytay is supporting presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo and her runningmate Senator Kiko Pangilinan in the May 2022 polls.

The organization believes the candidates “reflect the values and aspirations, dreams and hopes of the people we want to serve."
“The type of leaders we elect reflects the type of person we are,” CBCP News quoted the group's statement.
Taytay Bishop Broderick Pabillo said he supports the decision of the laity.
"I got their letter and I support their choice," he said in an interview.
Other lay organizations in the Archdiocese of Lipa and the apostolic vicariate of Calapan have also expressed their support for Robredo.
The Lipa Archdiocesan Council of the Laity said their support for Robredo was made after a “process of discernment” through a series of meetings and dialogues.
“We believe that a good leader must be truthful, honest, just, and be able to serve the people first before his personal desires. Maria Leonor ‘Leni’ Gerona Robredo embodies these characteristics,” they said.
In Oriental Mindoro province, the Council of the Laity of Calapan said they believe that the tandem “can uplift our current situation” amidst “lies, theft, killings, corruption and distortion of history are rampant”.
The organization encouraged the lay faithful to have their own personal discernment process so they could vote wisely.
