The Mandaluyong City local government extended assistance to residents adversely affected by the fire that hit a residential area in Barangay Addition Hills on March 4.

In a set of photos posted on her official Facebook page, Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos, together with her husband Benhur and other city government employees, went to the evacuation center where the victims were temporarily relocated.
They distributed food and relief packs, housing aid, and other medical services to the victims and promised that the city government will do its utmost to help them recover from the incident.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire started on the 2nd floor of the house of Delia Gomez Mamaril, which reached the second alarm before being put out.

The blaze left one person injured and around 200 families or 800 individuals homeless. It also damaged around P250,000 worth of property.
