You'll see Bongbong, Sara campaign together more

The "explosive" tandem of presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio will campaign together more often from now on.

Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) President and House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez made this promise late Monday afternoon, Feb. 28 when asked during a press conference in Davao City on what would be next for the frontrunning "BBM-Sara UniTeam".

"We will be unveiling the schedules for the month of March and you will be seeing actually more of the UniTeam campaign together," said Romualdez, vice presidential bet Duterte-Carpio's campaign manager.

"While they try to cover as much territory as possible, nakikita natin, pag kasama ang UniTeam, napaka-explosive ng reaction ng tao (we've seen that when UniTeam is together, the people's reactions have been explosive)," noted the House leader and Leyte 1st district representative.

Duterte-Carpio, the Lakas-CMD chairperson, had earlier explained the reason why she and Marcos haven't been campaigning together, or at least not as often as their poll rivals.

"So we have seen na nagre-resonate talaga itong UniTeam campaign (that this UniTeam campaign has really resonated with the people) and they really like to see Mayor Inday Sara with BBM campaign together so we will try to also give that to the people," Romualdez said.

That said, the majority leader said Marcos and Duterte-Carpio would still split up on the campaign trail whenever needed, as this would allow them to cover more ground with less than three months to go before the May 2022 polls.

"You will see a more cohesive, a more coordinated, a more focuses and a more successful campaign. You will see the best campaign ever waged in the Republic of the Philippines," Romualdez said in a rather bold declaration.

Marcos and Duterte-Carpio have consistently led pre-election surveys for president and vice president, respectively.
