TNT meets familiar foes in PBA 3x3 Leg 2 opener

TNT’s bid for another leg crown begins with some matches against familiar faces when the PBA 3x3 second conference returns this weekend at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Almond Vosotros, Reymark Acuno, Samboy de Leon and Lervin Flores begin their second leg campaign in Pool A along with San Miguel Beer, Pioneer, Sista and Master Sardines.

The Tropang Giga are scheduled to take on SMB, Sista and Pioneer on Saturday, March 5 before wrapping up pool play the following day against newcomer Master Sardines.

Runner-up Meralco is in Pool B alongside Platinum Karaoke, Purefoods and Terrafirma while Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and first conference champion Limitless are in Pool C together with Cavitex and NorthPort.

The top three teams in Pool A and the two best teams each in Pool B and C gain automatic entries to the quarterfinals while the third placers in Pool B and C meet in a playoff for the eighth and last spot.

The leg winner takes home P100,000, runner-up P50,000 and third place P30,000.

Vosotros, Acuno, De Leon and Flores ruled the inaugural leg of the halfcourt tournament’s second conference two weeks ago after winning all six matches, capping it off by defeating Meralco’s Tonino Gonzaga, Alfred Batino, Joseph Sedurifa and Dexter Maiquez in the final.

TNT began the first leg by sweeping Pool B, defeating Meralco, SMB and Pioneer in the process.
