Fight vs COVID not yet over even as Bulacan shifts to Alert Level 1 -- Gov. Fernando
Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando warned that the fight against COVID-19 is not yet over even as the province shifted to Alert Level 1 on Tuesday, March 1.
"The virus is still around," he said as he called on the local chief executives of the three cities and 21 municipalities in the province and all Bulakenyos to strictly comply with the minimum public health standards.
He said the vaccination program continues in the province, including pediatric inoculation for children five to 11 years old.
The Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported that from March 8, 2021 to Feb. 21, 2022, out of the total of 4,849,651 doses of COVID-19 vaccines received by the Provincial Government of Bulacan from the national government, 4,648,541 have been already administered.
He said 2,065,953 have received the first jab, 2,150,174 are fully vaccinated, while 432,404 have gotten a booster shot.
On Monday, Feb. 28, the PHO logged 15 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 109,070, of which, 107,193 or 98 percent have recovered. There was no new reported death for several days now and the province's deaths due to COVID-19 remained at 1,597.
Of the 280 active cases, 11 are admitted in the hospitals, 42 in a Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility, while 227 are under home isolation.
