Charlie Cojuangco laid to rest by kin

Tarlac 1st district Rep. Charlie Cojuangco, who died last Feb. 22 at the age of 58, has been laid to rest by his family.

A solemn ceremony was held for the solon and was followed by a funeral mass where his older brother and former Pangasinan 5th district Rep. Mark Cojuangco, his friend Alex Revilla, and wife China Jocson-Cojuangco delivered their respective eulogies.

Mark, in his speech, expressed his dedication in continuing to be his brother's "best man" even after his demise.

He then echoed his family's sentiments that Charlie lived his happiest days during his latter years with his wife, China.

In a joint Facebook post, Jaime and Claudia, Charlie's children with his late wife Rio Diaz, highlighted the Tarlac lawmaker's “unquestionable commitment” to public service.

Jaime, in a separate eulogy, also promised to continue his father's legacy.

In October last year, he substituted his father before the Commission on Elections (Comelec). Before this, Charlie filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for reelection for a third term as congressman in the upcoming May 2022 polls.

China delivered the final eulogy on Sunday. She took to her social media to express her grief over losing her husband.

Charlie is the youngest son of Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) figurehead and former Tarlac governor, the late Eduardo "Danding" Cojuangco Jr.
