Tulfo vows to troubleshoot infirmities in anti-endo rules in employment
ALABEL, Saranggani - Popular broadcaster Raffy “Idol” Tulfo, an independent senatorial candidate, called for a review of laws on labor contractualization in the country to determine what new legislation is needed to guarantee security of tenure among the country’s workers.

In a press conference here, Tulfo disclosed that his legislative agenda if elected to the Senate will revolve around measures that would guarantee the welfare of the country’s labor force and address the well-being of the Filipino family.
Tulfo joined presidential candidate Sen. Manny Pacquiao of PROMDI party, in a visit to the Pacman Village housing projects that the senator developed for homeless and poor families here.
The current leader of a number of poll surveys for senatorial preferences, Tulfo disclosed that he would be pursuing the chairmanship of the Senate Committee on Labor once elected.
The Senate Committee on Labor, Employment and Human Resources Development is currently chaired by re-electionist Sen. Joel Villanueva.
Asked how he would address the country’s problematic labor contractualization that has resulted in the much “endo” employment situation, Tulfo underscored the need for consultations among all stakeholders in order to balance the various solutions to the problem.
“Ang isang ekonomya ay maihahalintulad sa isang saksakyan. Iyong businessman, business sector - sila ang makina. Gasolina iyong mga manggagawa. Dapat ang makina at gasolina magkatugma iyan. (The economy can be compared to a vehicle. The businessman, business sector - they are the engine. The workers are the fuel. The engine and the gasoline should be compatible),” he explained.
Tulfo said that while the country already has a law in place to address issues resulting from contractualization, the implementation of its provisions is not being strictly pursued.
“Kailangan busisiin at alamin ang dahilan bakit nagkakaroon ng pagpigil sa anti-contractualization. (There is a need to review and determine the reason for the obstruction of anti-contractualization ),” he stressed.
