The pretty face of Bagong Henerasyon (BH) Party-list led the launch of its reelection campaign Tuesday, Feb. 8 at Barangay Masambong in Diliman, Quezon City in front of thousands of its supporters.

“We have done a lot, especially in the last how many years, but there’s more we can do to improve the quality of life of the people we represent,” BH Party-list representative and first nominee Bernadette Herrera said in a statement Wednesday, Feb. 9.
Herrera, a current deputy speaker in the House of Representatives and one of the few party-list solons to have ever held that post, vowed that BH Party-list would remain “the voice of women and youth, as well as micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Congress.”
At the same time, the party-list would "continue to champion consumer protection, efficient internet, and economic recovery".

The lawmaker's track record shows that she is more than just a pretty face. Before her designation as deputy speaker, Herrera served as chairperson the Committee on Women and Gender Equality and vice chairperson of the Committee on Welfare of Children in the current 18th Congress.
Herrera had authored several laws that significantly affect women, one of which is the 105-Day Expanded Maternity Leave Act. She also vigorously pushed for the bill banning child marriage in the country, which was recently signed into law by President Duterte..
To help the country navigate through the challenges of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, Herrera co-authored the "Bayanihan" laws that granted the President additional authority to combat COVID-19 and provided for pandemic response and recovery interventions.
She also fought for a stimulus package for MSMEs, which are among the hardest hit by COVID-19 due to the community quarantine restrictions.
The party-list's second nominee is Marlon Manalo.
