PPCRV transfers command center

The Pope Pius XII Catholic Center in Paco, Manila will no longer serve as the command center of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) in the May 2022 polls.

On Wednesday, Feb. 9, PPCRV chairperson emeritus Henrietta de Villa revealed that their command center will now be at the University of Santo Tomas also in Manila.

"That command center is small for pandemic needs with social distancing and all of that. The size and facilities of Pius are no longer enough," she said during the Laging Handa briefing.

"UST arena is big. It can accommodate 5,000 people...the safety of PPCRV volunteers are ensured according to social distancing protocols. It has lots of facilities within the floor and below it.

There are many rooms suited to the needs of the command center especially for pandemic times," added De Villa.

The command center is where PPCRV receives in their transparency server the electronic results.

PPCRV is the accredited citizens arm of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in the upcoming polls.

As citizens arm, it is entitled to the fourth copy of the election returns.
