Pateros Mayor Miguel “Ike” Ponce III urged the public to support the presidential bid of Aksyon Demokratiko’s Isko Moreno.
Ponce joined other leaders in attending the proclamation rally of the candidates of Aksyon Demokratiko at the Kartilya ng Katipunan in Manila on Feb. 8.
He said Manila has become a part of the lives of Fiilpinos and in the last three years, Moreno has developed the city.

“Why did he volunteer to run ? I know that ‘yorme’ wants to show that what he has done in Manila can be done outside in the provinces,” said Ponce.
He said the criteria that should be used in choosing a candidate is track record.
“Huwag po tayong madala dun sa mga islo-islogan, hindi ba, na iaangat natin ang Pilipinas, ibabangon natin. Ang totoo, minsan yung nagsasabi nito, sila ang nagsadlak sa Pilipinas. Huwag na ho tayo magpaloko (Do not be swayed by the slogans that say they will uplift the Philippines, raise it. The truth is, sometimes those who say this are the ones who plunged the Philippines to its lowest. Do not be fooled),” said Ponce.
Ponce said he is confident that the next president of the Philippines will be Moreno. The Pateros mayor was one of the earliest politicians to support Moreno’s presidential bid.
Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano also expressed support for Domagoso's presidential bid.
Also at the proclamation rally were Moreno's vice presidential candidate Dr. Willie Ong and senatorial candidates Carl Balita, Samira Gutoc, and Jopet Sison.
