Lacson-Sotto tandem woos voters in QC on second day of campaign

After launching their 2022 electoral bids in his hometown of Cavite yesterday, Partido Reporma standard-bearer Senator Panfilo ‘Ping’ M. Lacson goes to the turf of his running mate Senate President Vicente ‘Tito’ C. Sotto III in the so-called ‘City of Stars’—the populous metropolis of Quezon City.

The Lacson-Sotto tandem paid a courtesy call on the local government officials at the Quezon City Hall led by incumbent Mayor Joy Belmonte and Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, son of the vice-presidential candidate, the members of their city council and city hall employees, today, Jan. 9.

Reporters pressed the tandem about their reaction to the absence of their senatorial bets, with a couple joining the proclamation rally of other candidates instead of theirs.

They replied that as long as their senatorial candidates do not endorse other candidates, they would still be welcome in their campaign.

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian and former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista were both in the proclamation of the Marcos-Duterte tandem.

Lacson admitted that their rules are “loose” when it comes to their senatorial candidates.

Sotto says it was “the reality” that some of their candidates would prefer to join other sorties instead of theirs, especially if they were bigger.
