We can now all do our swiping in peace, maybe
Just in time for Love Month, Netflix released a new documentary that focuses on modern relationships, particularly finding love online with a not so “happily ever after” ending. Created by Felicity Morris, the director of the 2019 docu-series “Don't F**k with Cats,” “The Tinder Swindler” puts in the spotlight another online fugitive of many names that wooed women on Tinder then conned them out of millions of dollars for his extravagant lifestyle. That man is Shimon Hayut, a.k.a Simon Leviev, who in the film was described as the Prince of Diamond and falsely claim as the son of Israeli diamond magnate Levi Leviev.

By the end of the documentary, it states that Shimon—or Simon, or whoever he is—is back on Tinder since his prison release. But single people can breathe easy now, as Tinder confirms that he is now off from the dating app.
“We banned Simon Leviev and any of his known aliases as soon as the story of his actions became public in 2019. He is permanently banned from Tinder,” a representative told E! News. “In the lead up to the release of the documentary, we conducted additional internal investigations and can confirm Simon Leviev is not active on Tinder under any of his known aliases."
According to the film, the con man “has swindled $10 million from victims across the globe.” While he was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment for his crimes in Israel in 2019, he was released after five months. The women he scammed are still paying off their debts.
