Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano announced his support for Aksyon Demokratiko presidential bet Isko Moreno, saying the country needs a candidate like him who can do the job.

Cayetano attended the proclamation rally of the candidates of Aksyon Demokratiko at the Kartilya ng Katipunan in Manila on Feb. 8.

The mayor spoke about Moreno’s qualities as a leader.

“Napanood ko ho ‘yung mga debate sa Jessica Soho, sa Boy Abunda. Magaganda po lahat ng plano at naniniwala ako lahat ng kandidato maganda ang plano para sa ating bayan. Pero kailangan natin ho hindi lang magaling magplano. Kailangan natin ‘yung isang tao na kaya ang trabaho. Napakita na ho ni Mayor Isko Moreno na kaya n’ya ang trabaho (I saw the debates in Jessica Soho, in Boy Abunda . All the plans are great and I believe that all the candidates have great plans for our country. But what we need is someone who is not only good at planning. What we need is someone who can do the job. Mayor Isko Moreno has shown that he can do the job),” said Cayetano at the rally.

He said mayors have regular meetings with government officials to discuss plans in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was in those meetings, Cayetano said, that he saw the excellence and intelligence of Moreno.

“But that was when I saw his sincerity, the depth of his love for our country. More importantly, I saw his wide understanding about the true situation of our countrymen. Those two are the most important for me for a leader,” said Cayetano.

He added, “Now I know why Mayor Isko Moreno acts quickly. We are just planning it but he already does it.”

Also at the proclamation rally were Moreno's vice presidential candidate Dr. Willie Ong and senatorial candidates Carl Balita, Samira Gutoc and Jopet Sison.
