Three men including a student were arrested by the police in a drug buy-bust operation in Taguig on Feb. 7.
Elements from the Southern Police District’s Drug Enforcement Unit, the District Intelligence Division, and District Mobile Force Battalion conducted the buy-bust operation along Visayas Street, South Signal Village, Taguig.


SPD director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the arrested suspects as Steven Paunil, 22, construction worker, resident of Paranaque City; Glen Esperansate, 24, resident of Taguig; and Faisan Dunadag, 18, student, resident of Taguig.
During the operation, the police seized 12 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 500 grams with an estimated value of P3.4 million, P1,000 buy-bust money, one motorcycle and P4,000 boodle money.
The three suspects are now detained at the SPD temporary custodial facility and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). The drugs were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.
Macaraeg lauded the success of the buy-bust operation, saying, “As we vow to our mandate, rest assured that the SPD team would remain relentless in our anti-illegal drug operations and intensified drive to put a stop to the illegal drug trade in the whole Southern Metro.”
