Sara asks supporters to 'protect' Bongbong in proclamation rally speech
Vice presidential aspirant Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has called on her supporters to "protect" her partner, presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., saying the country needs his "experience".

During her speech at the BBM-Sara UniTeam proclamation rally on Tuesday, Feb. 8, Duterte-Carpio said she chose to join forces with Marcos Jr. because she "believes in his capacity to serve as a president".
She said this attribute was proven by Marcos Jr.'s "wide experience" as local chief executive and legislator.
"The kind of experience we need not only to sustain the growth and development spurred by the current admin, but also to bring a more prosperous future," she told BBM-Sara supporters at the Philippine Arena in Santa Maria, Bulacan.
"We must protect President Bongbong Marcos," she added.
Duterte-Carpio further said she and Marcos Jr. are offering the public "A tandem endowed with wisdom and experience."
The Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) vice presidential bet also believes the government can do better, and that "We should stand tall, united, and resilient."
"Ang gusto nating lahat, trabaho at hanapbuhay para sa karamihan, kalidad na edukasyon para sa mga kabataan, at mapayapang pamumuhay. Tatlo lang, pero hindi ito madali. At hindi tayo susuko. Magpupursige tayo dahil mahal natin ang Pilipinas (What we want is for most people to get jobs, quality education for the youth, and peaceful lives. Only those three, but it will not be easy. And we will not surrender. We will strive because we love the Philippines)," she said.
"We shall move forward. We will live with COVID (coronavirus disease). And we will bounce back like never before," she added.
