Gordon kicks off campaign with VP Leni, Pangilinan

Senator Richard Gordon on Tuesday, February 8, joined the caravan of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan in Naga City, Camarines Sur as the campaign period for the May 2022 elections kicks off today.

Gordon, a guest candidate of the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem, is seeking re-election in the upcoming polls, and is among the eight senatorial bets being endorsed by the vice president.

"We went here to the beautiful and historic city of Naga today to appreciate the support thrown at us by our countrymen from Bicol as we start our journey towards six more years in the Senate,” Gordon said.

“Kami ay nagpapasalamat sapagkat nasusuklian ng Bicol ng pagmamahal sa amin, dahil hindi natin napabayaan ang mga nasalanta ng maraming kalamidad sa rehiyong ito (We are thankful because the Bicolanos showed their love to us, because we took care of the people here who suffered during the calamities that hit the region),” he said.

Gordon is set to visit various towns in Camarines Sur, including the Angat Buhay village in Lupi town and will join the proclamation rally at Plaza Quezon in Naga in the late afternoon. He will visit nearby Sorsogon and Albay the next day.

The chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee vowed to continue his crusade against abusive and corrupt officials in government.

“We will leave no stone unturned and continue to render our selfess service to the Filipino people, because they deserve leaders to look up to and be emulated by our next generation,” Gordon said.
