More than 17 million ballots have already been printed for the May 2022 polls.

As of Feb. 7, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said 17,502,641 ballots have already been printed at the National Printing Office (NPO) in Quezon City.
Of the said number, 60,000 for local absentee voting (manual); 79,080 for overseas voting (manual); 2,588,193 for BARMM; 1,618,122 for overseas voting (AES); 86,280 for the 63 barangays in North Cotabato (manual); 1,868,798 for CARAGA; 2,606,492 for Region 12; 3,236,251 foe Region 11; 3,060,485 for Region 10; and 2,298,930 for Region 9.
"As you can see we have quite a way to go but its also very important to note that this is already a significant chunk of the total work that we need to do," Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez said in an online press briefing Tuesday, Feb. 8.
Ballot printing started Jan. 20 with the manual ballots for Local Absentee Voting (LAV), followed by the manual ballots for overseas voting, and the automated election system ballot for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The Comelec is targeting to finish the printing of all official ballots on April 21.
The poll body is set to print more than 67 million ballots for the May 2022 elections.
