Presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. vowed to continue efforts to unite and help the Filipino people, so that the country "can rise up again".

During his speech at his proclamation rally with running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio on Tuesday, Feb. 8, Marcos Jr. said he will further push for unity since he believes that compassion has always been in the heart of the Filipino people.
In fact, it was for this reason why he decided to run for the presidency.
"Ang Pilipino kapag nakikita na nangangailangan ng tulong ang kapwa Pilipino ay maghahandog ng kanyang kamay upang makadulot lamang ng konting ginhawa (If Filipinos see a countryman in need, they will reach out to help him in order to give him a bit of relief)," he told the BBM-Sara supporters during their campaign kickoff at the world's largest indoor arena--the Philippine Arena.
"Ito ang nasa puso ng bawat Pilipino kaya ipagpatuloy natin ang kilusan ng pagkakaisa. Dumadami na tayo, sama-sama na tayong nagkakasundo (This has been in the hearts of each Filipino, so let's continue to push for unity. We're increasing in number, we're getting along together)," he added.
Marcos Jr. said he will make the Philippines "famous" and make Filipinos proud of themselves again.
The formers senator also vowed to find a way to convince Filipinos working abroad to return home.
"At kapag nakamtan natin itong tagumpay ng pagkakaisa, makikita natin ang ating mga kababayan na makabalik na sa kanilang trabaho... makapagbigay tayo ng pag-asa sa bawat isa, na ang ating kinabukasan ay magiging mas maganda sa ating pinanggalingan (Once we achieve this unity, we expect our people regain their jobs...we will give hope to everyone, and our future will become better)," he said.
"Huwag tayong titigil dito sa ating kilusan na ito, ipagkaisa natin ang buong Pilipinas, pagandahin natin ang ating minamahal na bansang Pilipinas at tayo ay sama-samang babangon muli (Let's not stop in this endeavor, let's unite the Philippines and make our beloved country better so that we can rise up again)," he added.
