'Amihan' to bring cloudy skies, rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon

The northeast monsoon, locally called "amihan," may continue to affect Luzon, bringing cloudy skies and rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday, Feb. 8.

PAGASA advised the public to remain alert against possible flash floods or landslides due to the occurrence of moderate to at times heavy monsoon rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the amihan.

PAGASA said the easterlies, or the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, may prevail over the rest of the country.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may affect Caraga and Davao regions, while the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned the public that severe thunderstorms could also trigger flash floods or landslides.
