Unbeaten AXS leads WCS-PH KO Qualifiers cast

AXS went for an immaculate 7-0 record in the Swiss Round of the Wild Rift Champions SEA – Philippines to lead seven others team in the knockout stage qualifier set on Feb. 11-13.

AXS capped its blazing run in the Feb. 5-6 open qualifiers first phase with a 2-1 victory over LF Adoption in Round 7. The squad also won against Sunsparks (2-0), Cerebrum Wild Rift (2-1), Forza International (2-0), PGN Astarusia Esports (2-0), Mensaje Esports Wrath (2-0) and RHP Casual Boyz (2-0).

AXS was the lone unbeaten squad throughout the Swiss Round with teams like RRQ Philippines and Cerebrum Esports trailing in the second and third spots.

Joining them in the double elimination KO stage were Sibol National Team SEA Games representative LF Adoption, GIGA, Rejoice, Grindsky Esports and Sunsparks.

The second to seventh placed teams had identical 6-1 records while the eight seeded Sunsparks finished with a 5-2 win-loss slate.

Notable teams in the 109 participants that missed the cut were Liyab Esports, Oasis Gaming, Kosa Nostra, Fervent Esports and Nigma Galaxy.

The six best teams in the knockout stage will join Team Secret and Fennel Adversity in the regular season which is set to kick off on Feb. 25 with the lion’s share of the $160,000 prize pool at stake.
