Marikina City launched its online registration for the vaccination of children aged five to 11 against the coronavirus (COVID-19) on Monday, Feb. 7.

Parents wanting to have their children vaccinated must provide the following:
A copy of the child’s birth certificate, a valid form of identification (ID) of the parent or guardian, and a doctor-issued medical certificate for children with comorbidities.
Only children residing or studying in Marikina at the time of registration are eligible to receive the vaccine against COVID-19.
Pfizer’s Comirnaty vaccine is the only one granted emergency use authorization for minors aged five to 11 by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The pediatric vaccination rollout officially began on Feb. 7.
In Marikina, schools around the city serve as vaccination sites as they have a child-friendly environment, according to Mayor Marcy Teodoro.
Marikina is set to vaccinate about 60,691 minors belonging to this age bracket within 60 days or around 1,000 to 1,500 children daily.
