The Mandaluyong City local government distributed Mommy and Emergency Go-Bags to its residents and city employees on Monday, Feb. 7.

During its weekly Monday assembly, Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos, together with the Chairman of the Committee on Health of Mandaluyong Councilor Benjie Abalos, Bambi Rodriguez of the Rotary Club of ManPaSan, and other private companies, led the turnover event of 350 Mommy Go-Bags to the city's first time mommies.

Rodriguez said that each bag contains the different basic necessities of infants and mothers such as diapers, soaps, feminine wash, and vitamins.

Abalos said the city will also distribute Emergency Go-Bags to its employees.
She also said that the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) of city hall employees have also been disbursed.

Abalos also updated the public on Mandaluyong's COVID-19 status and numbers.
According to the report of the Mandaluyong Health Department (MHD), the city has 952 active COVID-19 cases as of Feb. 6, 33,435 recoveries, and 608 deaths.
Barangay Highway Hills recorded the highest number of active cases with 199, followed by Plainview with 87, Barangka ilaya with 79, and Hulo with 76.
Mandaluyong has deployed 1,193,305 COVID-19 vaccines as of Feb. 6. Of this number, 533,101 have received their first dose while 515,083 have been fully vaccinated.
