PRC mulls accepting vaccination cards instead of RT-PCR tests for examinees

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Saturday, Feb. 5, said it is mulling the acceptance of vaccination cards instead of reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test or certificate of quarantine for examinees and personnel.

PRC Chairperson Teofilo Pinaldo Jr. said the Commission is coordinating with the Department of Health and Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to amend the joint administrative order to accept vaccination cards instead of COVID-19 test or certificate of quarantine.

Pilando encouraged the examinees and personnel to get vaccinated as it is one of the requirements of PRC and IATF-EID.

"The Commission strives to strictly implement the health and safety protocols during the preparation, administration, and post activities of examinations in order to minimize the risk among the examinees, personnel, and the board," he said.

"PRC follows the protocols imposed in the joint administrative order such as requiring a negative RT-PCR test result or a certificate of 14-day quarantine, as well as the usual physical distancing, wearing of face mask, thermal scanning, and the like," Pilando added.

He noted that PRC also follows requirements enforced by the local IATF and local government units.
