LF Adoption stuns Fennel Adversity to claim Sibol Wild Rift slot

LF Adoption capped its dream run in the 2022 Wild Rift Men’s Sibol National Team Selection with a dominant 3-0 sweep of Fennel Adversity in the Grand Finals on Friday, Feb. 4.

Despite coming from the upper bracket, the unheralded quintet composed of the core players of the United City FC Esports along with Renzel "Ecila" Ayuban of Malaysian team Berjaya Dragons entered the match as underdogs against the fancied Fennel squad.

The crew, however, defied all odds and dominated the lone team which got the direct invitation to the Phase 2 of the Sibol qualifiers.

Ecila even executed a clutch Elder Infernal Dragon steal in the final moments of Game 3 for the dramatic 11-6 finish in the series clincher.

Ecila on his Fiora sneaked in from behind and completed the Dragon steal against five members of FLA all while Renzy on the Kha’zix is securing the Baron Nashor on the other side of the map. The rest of LF Adoption took advantage of that steal, engaging Fennel to a huge team fight which resulted to four-man kill on the side of FLA.

LF Adoption then went for the GG push as Ecila finished with 1-2-6 KDA while keeping the pressure on the sidelanes with his split pushing. Renzy was perfect in the match with a 6-0-1 score line.

LFA scored the first point of the series, catching the last year’s SEA Icon Series second placers off-guard with a lopsided 14-1 victory. Renzy on the Jayce starred in the momentous upset with an immaculate showing of 4-0-8 KDA as LF Adoption controlled the tempo of the match from start to finish.

The squad then proved that its Game 1 shocker was a no fluke as it managed to prevail in the tightly contested second game.

LF Adoption came out on top during a clash for the Baron Nashor at the 18-minute mark of the game. It scored an Ace on FLA with Ecila notching a double-kill during that sequence to turn the tides to their favor.

Ecila and company then went for the Nexus to end the second game 17-12. Fdae on the Akali spearheaded the attack with an 8-3-4 score line while Demonkite provided support on his Corki with a 3-1-12 stat line.
